NEIBORS
The North Eastern Iowa Bridge to Online Resource Sharing (or NEIBORS) offers downloadable audio books for all patrons of the library.
NEIBORS website
The NEIBORS website can be found at http://neibors.lib.overdrive.com.
Logging in
To download audio books from NEIBORS, you have to log in with your library card bar code (located on the back of your library card). If you do not have a bar code on the back of your library card, the library staff can give you one at the library. To sign in, click on the words "Sign in" on the NEIBORS website's menu. On the next page, you will need to choose the library from a list of all participating libraries in the rightmost drop-down list. You will now need to enter your bar code information in the form P#####. You will now be able to use the NEIBORS services.
About NEIBORS
The NEIBORS project is a collaborative project among 94 libraries in the northeastern part of Iowa which officially began on July 13th, 2007. An acronym for the North Eastern Iowa Bridge to Online Resource Sharing, NEIBORS allows patrons of the library to download audio books directly to their computers at home with nothing more than the library card bar code.
Getting Started
The NEIBORS website itself contains tutorials on how to get started. The link on the left hand side of the page, "Quick Start Guide" will get you up and running as fast as possible. You may want to take some time and watch the tutorial shows by clicking on the "Guided Tour" image in the same set of links to the left. The library has also provided a quick question sheet available below.
