Weather Policy
Policies that cover severe weather and library closings due to weather.
The library discourages traveling in severe weather. Patrons will not be penalized for returning items late due to adverse weather conditions.

In the event of severe weather, the library will follow the following procedures:
- School closing due to weather before the library opens: The library will be open at the discretion of the library director based on condition of roads, visibility, and expected duration of severe weather.
- School closing due to weather after the library opens: The library will close one half (1/2) hour after school dismisses. All patrons will be notified and allowed to make a phone call if necessary. The library will reopen at the discretion of the library director based on condition of roads, visibility, and expected duration of severe weather.
- Severe weather occurring during non-school hours: The library will close at the discretion of the library director based on condition of roads, visibility, and expected duration of severe weather.
- Tornado warning: All patrons and staff will be moved to the restrooms until an all clear issued by the national weather service.
