Summer Reading Program 2009: Be Creative @ Your Library

About the Program
As always, the goal of the Summer Reading Program is to encourage reading during the school break. This year's program is entitled Be Creative @ Your Library and will feature programs that help discover more about bugs, books, recycling, and composting. It will run from June 5th to August 25th.
Participating
Reading Minutes Log Incentive Program
- Sign a contract at the library for how many minutes you will read per week with the goal of reading 5 days a week. When you turn in the contract, you will receive a packet with a reading log. Suggested minutes are:
- Preschool - 1 picture book
- Kindergarten - 5-10 minutes.
- 1st & 2nd grade - 15 minutes.
- 3rd grade and up - 20-30 minutes
- Every time you read that many minutes, put one sticker on your reading log. When you have 5 stickers, you have earned one prize level. You can come to the library and get a level 1 prize or keep reading to earn higher prize levels. There is no limit to the number of stickers you can collect.
- Turn in your reading log by August 25th.
